Prompt for Friday, April 10, 2026:

We’re officially one-third of the way into April. Grass has greened up and lawnmowers are being pulled out of storage. Daffodils and tulips are preparing to bloom. Some tractors have made it into the field to finish up anhydrous application and get a start on spring tillage. And – most exciting of all – shed doors are open and planters are sitting in the farmyard as spring maintenance is performed and settings are adjusted to prepare for the season.

That brings us to this weekend’s social media prompt:

  • What’s the status of planting on your farm? Has planting commenced? Is the planter ready to head out for a test run on Monday, assuming conditions are fit? Have you taken delivery of seed? What still needs to be done before the first day of planting?
    • This prompt is perfect for a video of you speaking to the camera “on location” (AKA, the farm). Share some b-roll (supporting video clips) of the planter (ready to go or sitting with tools scattered around), of you walking the field testing soil moisture, or an organized stash of seed (whether you have a wall of Pro Boxes or hayrack of bagged seed).
  • What are your feelings about the beginning of planting season and the visible start of a new year? Excited? Nervous? Ready to be done because it means that summer is just around the corner?
    • A video of you speaking to the camera is ideal for this prompt, whether posted as short video in your feed or as a Story.
  • Planning ahead: Prepare for your “first day of planting” photo and be ready to snap and post when that day comes! This could be a coordinated effort of you/your family gathered in front of the tractor with a letterboard or dry erase board commemorating the occasion or a quick selfie in the cab of the tractor.

If you end up using this week’s prompt, we’d love to see it! Drop a direct link to your post or video in the comments.
