Prompt for Friday, February 13, 2026:
Although we’ve been enjoying some warmer February weather recently, it is still very much winter in Illinois and we are still weeks out from any fieldwork. Which begs the question: What do farmers do in the winter?
Make a post – share a video or carousel of images – that shows what you are up to in the winter.
- Do you have livestock? The work never stops! Winter just adds another layer of day-to-day tasks.
- Do you have an off-farm job (either seasonal or full-time)? Connect with your audience by showing that your day-to-day probably looks an awful lot like their day-to-day right now.
- Working through equipment maintenance? Book work? Taxes? Jump on camera from your office or sitting next to a tractor surrounded by tools and explain what some of the behind-the-scenes work looks like as you prepare for the busy spring season.
- Enjoying more family time in the slower months? Share what you do as a family! Family game nights, school sporting events, meeting kids at the bus stop, preparing meals as a family…it all makes for great content to give followers a peek into your life!
Visuals are ideal for a post like this. Consider creating:
- A video
- A carousel of photos with a text overlay on the photos
- A series of photos with context written in the caption
