Prompt for Friday, September 25th, 2026:

Busy season has arrived! Whether you’re busy in the field, supporting those busy in the field, or simply living next to a field and running an on-the-go family, you’re more alike than you think – everyone needs to eat!

As you develop social media content this weekend, think about busy season mealtimes, especially the tips and tricks you’ve picked up over the years that have made your life easier.

As you compose your post, consider:

  • Whether you plan to share a video (most popular) or a carousel. A video could include clips of your day and the finished meal OR an overview of preparing the meal. A carousel could be the same thing, but utilizing photos or short video clips without the opportunity for a voiceover. The main difference is how you feel comfortable gathering content!
  • Aim to share something that could be helpful for someone else:
    • Are you a “handhelds” family? What are three go-to meal options you keep in your back pocket that you can whip out at a moment’s notice? (And what is the importance of a “handhelds” meal over something that needs to be eaten with a fork?)
    • Are you a family that pauses work in the field and gathers around a tailgate to eat a warm meal? Share some of your favorite easily-transportable meal ideas!
    • Do you have a running list of food items that you keep around the house without a specific meal plan? Maybe you always have lunchmeat in the fridge and bread on the counter for an emergency sandwich. Or maybe you buy several chicken breasts a few weeks before busy season begins to prepare shredded chicken in the crockpot in advance and freeze in meal-sized portions, ready to turn into a meal quickly. Whatever it is, pass along your expertise for other busy families!
  • The focus of the post can vary based on your interests. Maybe it’s a quick overview of ideas that work for you or a post dedicated to sharing a recipe and preparation instructions. Do what works for you.

Tips:

  • Plan for a 60-90 second video or 6-8 slide carousel.
  • Don’t forget the voiceover (video) or to add text to your carousel slides to explain what is happening.
  • Include a hook at the beginning. (“Is your family always on the go this time of year? Ours, too! Here’s how we manage meals for our family of # in the fall.)
  • Utilize the caption text to improve post performance in search.
